Unfortunately, due to my ill health and after 50 years plus of breeding and racing pigeons. 32 years full time. We have come to the heartbreaking decision that we have no other choice, but to sell our family of pigeons.

We have raced successfully for many years – Topping the Combine many times with up to 6,320 birds competing and from all distances.

We have bred and raced various breeds over the years, but none more successfully than the introduction to our family of ‘Daniel & Danielle’ purchased from Steve Maylett, after they each won a 1st Open NW Grand National for him!

Along with the Heremans-Ceusters lines we really hit a golden run!

The arrival of this prolific pair, to our already very successful family, has kept us competing at the top of our game.

Such pigeons as recently Carisse, Carrie, Rachel, Rowan, Otis the sire of Rachel and the famous ‘Houdini’ of Jack McNair, Preston.

They are responsible for many winners at Club, Fed, Open, Sections, One Loft Races, Ace pigeons & RPRA NW Sprint Award winner over the years, not just for us, but for lots of other fanciers!

Unfortunately, there will be no more out of this pair as Daniel sadly passed away. Any child or grandchild will definitely strengthen your loft. These birds can race!

We have an excellent reputation in the racing world, both home and abroad, with many of our pigeons exported, in the past, to Ireland, Australia, The Phillipines, Malta etc with a lot of success. We are going to miss this great sport and the excitement of a race day, but we wish you all the best for the future.

So, the time has come for this fantastic partnership to call it a day. Andy is going through cancer treatment, and he is getting no better, so because of his health issues the partnership of Andy and Debbie Gregson have very reluctantly decided that they must put Andy’s health and ongoing treatment first and quit racing pigeons.

They have offered every pigeon that breeds, all their fed, National, One Lofts Race and RPRA Award winners are in the sale.

We called up to see Andy and Debbie and to look at and handle the team of pigeons. They are a truly magnificent team of pigeons that have been performing at a very high level for over 50 years. The name of Mr & Mrs Gregson is a household name and the success they have achieved in pigeon racing has come because of their dedication, talent and undoubted good pigeons. They live and breath pigeons and this auction is one of the best we have ever put together.

They are true pigeon fanciers and the only thing that matters to them is quality, pedigrees don’t play a part, although many of the pigeons are very well-bred, they do not chase names or fashions, they just chase top pigeons and the ones that perform stay and the ones that don’t are gone.

The pigeons in this auction will prove to be assets in any other lofts. There are some unique offers within the sale.

Highlight of 2024 was ‘Rachel’ winning the RPRA One Loft Grand Final Race & Ace Pigeon (546

birds). Only 4 birds’ home on the day flying into a head wind 1007 ypm. With her nestmate ‘Rowan’

who was 6th RPRA OLR & 9th Ace pigeon. Together winning the 2 bird Average and over

£14,000.

With our winnings over the last 2 years being over £56,000 plus !!

We have now won 4 OLR’s

Top prize winner Bamber Bridge FC and NNW Lancs Premier Fed last 2 years.

Also winning NNW Lancs Premier Fed Breeder/Buyer 2024 – big thanks to Jason Foxcroft for breeding her.

Highlights

Hard to remember the highlights we’ve had so many over the years, but the more recent would be winning the RPRA One Loft YB race both in 2023 & 2024 and ‘Ace’ Pigeon in both races. As all fanciers know, participants in OLR’s only send what they consider to be their best pigeons as they must compete in a tough and demanding schedule of races. The pigeons that make it to the final are special pigeons and for our birds to win it two years in a row is a phenomenal achievement.

The nestmates of the winners didn’t let us down either with a 34th Open/9th Ace pigeon and 2 and in 2B Average in 2023 and 6th Open/9th Ace pigeon and 1st 2B Average in 2024.

We have also won a further two One Loft Races – one being the only bird on the day after flying 15 hours 7 minutes and winning £5,000.

A real honour was ‘Rachel’ our 2024 RPRA OLR Winner/Ace pigeon appearing on the front cover of The BHW 2025 Stud Book

Top prize winner in New NW Lancs Premier Federation 2023/ 2024/2025 – (didn’t complete the season due to ill health in 2023 & 2025) with over 1,300 birds competing

Another stand out in the past would be winning the Old Lancashire Combine from Niort 521 miles with a late bred hen and being awarded a massive trophy! Our success at 2007 The Sun City Million Dollar Race 3rd GB/47the Open (2,402 birds) beating all Belgium and Dutch entries.

2^nd Loft knock-out (beaten by 3 minutes for $25,000 – single entry. 2008 Sun City 1st & 3rd GB, 43rd & 47th Open)– 3 entries.

2009 – 8th GB/140th Open (3082 birds) – 2 entries – winning £10,000 between 2007-2009, and only nine British pigeons managed to get in front of us during this period.
