Now this is exactly the type of pigeon that catches my eye in a One Loft Race sale – a youngster that has already done the job itself, and done it when it mattered most.

GB26-V48373 is a Blue from the Macaloney family and its North West One Loft Race performances shown on the pedigree include:

HOTSPOT 1 – 62 miles – 161st
HOTSPOT 2 – 117 miles – 8th
HOTSPOT 3 – 146 miles – 21st
FINAL – 200 miles – 6th

6th IN THE FINAL!

That is the result to look at. When the distance went out to 200 miles and the big race arrived, this pigeon was right there at the sharp end.

Add to that 8th Hotspot 2 and 21st Hotspot 3 and we are looking at a youngster that showed more than one good performance during the series.

SIRE – GB25-D04572 “VISION IN GOLD”

A Blue Macaloney cock, and the pedigree states that his sire is TIGER VISION, a National Ace and multi-performance cock for Macaloney.

TIGER VISION is SU18-1771, a Blue and described on the pedigree as a MULTI NATIONAL WINNING COCK FOR MACALONEY.

He is bred from SU15-L9933 “DOUBLE VISION” when paired to SU18-1772 “BLUE CAVIAR”.

So immediately behind Lot 6 we have the Vision and Caviar blood that has been so important in this Macaloney family.

DAM – GB25-V14634 “TRACEY”

A Blue hen whose own pedigree records that she took a bad knock in training but still went on to record 38th in the Final.

Her father is WHU22-D24221 “TITAN VISION”, a Blue Macaloney pigeon bred by Marshall James.

Behind TITAN VISION is SU19-7619 “VISION 19” and GB21-V73636 “ONE VISION”.

The mother of TRACEY is GB22-V77149 “DARK TIGER”, a Dark Chequer Macaloney pigeon described as DIRECT FROM TIGER VISION AND ZULU CAVIAR.

And there again is TIGER VISION, this time paired to SU18-736 “ZULU CAVIAR”, a black hen shown on the pedigree as dam to “PONTOON” LSC.

SO JUST LOOK AT WHAT WE HAVE HERE

Lot 6 is not being sold simply on pedigree. This youngster has already proved itself in the One Loft Race basket:

For me, the 6th Final is the big selling point. Plenty of pedigrees can look impressive before the birds are put in the basket – this pigeon has actually gone to the Final and come home 6th.

That is proper One Loft Race performance.
